Job Description

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of strategy and governance for all aspects of Information Technology throughout the enterprise. This position provides architectural and technology leadership, oversight, recommendation, and transition strategies designed to provide consistent and cohesive approaches to technology solutions across the enterprise. Enterprise Architects provide influence across Application, Infrastructure, Data, and Business Architecture domains. The Enterprise Architect is responsible for translating the long term strategic vision of the business into a technology roadmap designed to deliver on that vision. This position serves as a technical advisor to senior IT management, and mentors junior level technical staff within multiple functional areas of the IT the organization.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provides cumulative insight towards the development of architecture approaches for multiple layers of a complex solution.

  • Responsible for the development of policies, procedures, and standards for systems across Information Technology. Technology platforms to be governed include Salesforce, Amazon Web Services, and Workday.

  • Leads enterprise level governance bodies such as the Architecture Working Group.

  • Reviews Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Architecture approaches for adherence to Business and IT strategy and road map.

  • Guides research of emerging technology from an enterprise perspective.

  • Accountable for the enhancement and maintenance of the IT Roadmap.

  • Analyzes industry trends to ensure the common technology architecture in assigned area(s) is current with industry standards.

  • Guides technology investment planning and software/hardware partner roadmap alignment.

  • Leads technical teams for architecture, estimates, delivery timeframes, gathering and articulating non-functional requirements, reviewing business, functional and technical requirements.

  • Utilizes The Open Group Architecture Forum (TOGAF) framework to create key architecture documentation and deliverables.

  • Updates management team on overall project, risks, technology issues and propose suitable alternatives.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent (required).

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in enterprise applications, data, software and infrastructure areas with focus on architecture (required).

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience working with Services Oriented Architectures, API design, and implementation patterns. (required)

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in designing and developing multi-tiered enterprise systems. (required)

  • Strong understanding of current software and architecture frameworks, design principles, and software development tools.

  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including agile and waterfall methodologies.

  • Ability to communicate complex problems and solutions at varying levels of audience.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to develop system architectures designed to meet long term strategic objectives.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

  • TOGAF training and certification preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead teams to achieve business results.
