The Senior Manager, Routing is responsible for driving the design, development, and deployment of routing solutions within Republic Services.
This position supports a core and foundational component of Republic’s future-state operating strategy, and acts as a leader in integrating and executing all aspects of our related routing solutions and applications. The Senior Manager, Routing leverages their deep knowledge of route optimization methods and technologies to ensure technical solutions, processes, and field expectations align with company objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Provides day-to-day input and leadership in executing Republic’s strategic and future state routing goals.
Drives work stream activities across Field, IT, and Operations resource groups to deliver on routing objectives.
Supports the development of processes surrounding route optimization procedures and expectations.
Identifies opportunities and leads solutions to drive a more predictive and streamlined operating model.
Works cross-functionality to gather and develop requirements that support overall company goals and strategies.
Responsible for project benchmarks and progress reporting
Develops presentations and effectively communicates results and action plans to all parties, including executive leadership.
Actively manages vendor relationships and influences product roadmaps.
Continually monitors the routing landscape and educates leadership teams on technologies and strategies.
Leads and motivates internal and external functional expert teams to ensure timely and cost effective completion of projects.
Travel by air or car up to 50% may be required.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or routing (required).
Experience leading an enterprise routing-based technology design and implementation program.
Demonstrated experience in technology process implementation.
Strong understanding of modeling techniques, benchmarking, and statistical analysis.
Experience with GIS, Mapping, or Logistics management applications.
Demonstrated experience in project management leadership and performance management.
Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience, including supervising direct reports.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with advanced proficiency in Excel.
Experience managing vendor relationships.
Ability to prepare and give professional presentations to groups at all levels, including executive leadership.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.
